Reds Try to "Get-Away" With a Win

Some news and notes from last night's 8-6 loss in Pittsburgh:

- The 19 inning scoreless streak the pitching staff piled up came to a halt- quickly- as Micah Owings allowed four runs in the the first inning.

- Owings was erratic for the most part allowing five runs, 9 hits, two walks and failed to strike-out a Pirate in 5 2/3 innings.

- On the flip-side of the Reds streak, the Pirates offense came into the game on a 22 inning scoreless drought.

- Adam Rosales continues to rope the ball in his first week up, getting three hits and an RBI

- Alex Gonzalez came to bat in the ninth with the winning runs on base and struck-out to end the game.

- Today's game is the deal breaker of the series. Reds Manager Dusty Baker talks all the time how get-away games are important in baseball so it will be interesting to see how they respond after the loss.

Todays Game:

1:35 p.m. PNC Park, Pittsburg

Probable Pitchers

Johhnny Cueto (1-1) v.s. Jeff Karsten (1-0)

Thanks for the Sports Dictionary. Without that, I would've been completely lost.

I feel like it's a roller coaster following this team. I'm not a sports person, but reading about it, I keep celebrating the good, mourning the bad and hoping for the best. To be less than grammatically correct, who'd've thunk it?
