Unfriendly Homecoming

Wake up Cincinnati- no matter how good you play on the road, 81 games are still played at home.

And, so far this season for the Reds, Great American Ballpark has been more like a trip to your crazy aunt's house rather a place you'd call home.

Once again the Reds came home from a successful road trip and once again they started the home stand with a loss- except this time it was a drubbing.

The Milwaukee Brewers booted Bronson Arroyo off the mound quicker than Vanilla Ice gets booed off stage, racking up 9 runs in in less then two innings and the Brew-crew pounded the Reds 15-3 in front of another lousy crowd at Great American Ball Park.

I didn't quit watching until after the second inning, but I didn't need to watch much more after to know what the outcome was going to be, so here's some quick observations from the two innings I watched and a few other odds and ends:

- Bronson Arroyo isn't right. Sure he's won four games, but I think his hand problem- the one he took cortisone shots for- is flaring up bad. Cortisone is like duck tape- a quick fix.

- With that said Joe's Dugout predicts if Arroyo has another bad outing his next start, a trip to the disabled list will be in order and it will be welcome to Cincinnati Homer Bailey.

- Lance Nix deserves more playing time.

- Totally off topic but kudos to the Cincinnati Bengals for signing safety Roy Williams. A four-time pro-bowler in Dallas under current Bengals Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer, Williams should bring an attitude and upgrade to the leagues 12th ranked defense.

- I'll leave you with this: To Manny Ramirez- hahahahaha. All you cheaters in baseball will be exposed sooner or later and the 50 games Ramirez will sit out for testing positive for performance enhancing drugs won't just affect his salary- but his chances at the Hall of Fame.

Tonight's Game:

Reds v.s. Brewers. 7:10 p.m. Great American Ball Park.

Broadcast: Fox Sports Net, 700 WLW A.M..

Micah Owings (1-3) v.s. Brandon Looper (2-1)

I really like you new blog, and this post was really clever. I'm not even much of a baseball fan and, yet the whole post kept me interested. Btw, Roy Williams will be a really nice asset to the Bengals, but I'm still not convinced this will be the miracle that will change redirect their streak. Nice job!!
